Joel Weaver is a full-time Lecturer teaching introductory Greek, Biblical Interpretation, and Introduction to Christian Scriptures. He has a Bachelor of Arts with Honors from Samford University and a M.Div. from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He graduated with a Ph.D. in Religion from Baylor in August 2004; his area of concentration is New Testament. Professor Weaver is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature and the National Association of Baptist Professors of Religion.

He is married to Sally Weaver (Ph.D., M.D.), and they have three daughters, Sarah, Anna and Becca.
